Dr. Rhonda's Bio

Dr. Rhonda Low graduated from UBC in 1984 and has practiced family medicine in Vancouver ever since. Her interest in public health education started in 1986 when she began speaking to community and corporate groups on health issues. She went on to co-host a 13 part TV series on Alternate Medicine for the Life and Knowledge Television Networks in 1996. She has also guest hosted for Dr. Art Hister’s “Housecalls” program on CKNW radio. She hosts “Your Health” daily on CTV News at Five and CTV News at Six, providing up-to-date information on today’s health issues.

A certified member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, Dr. Low is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UBC, where she helped pioneer the “Interviewing Skills” (Bedside Manners) course in the 1st year medical school curriculum. She has taught both undergraduate and post-graduate medical students, and has twice been nominated for Teacher of the Year awards in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC.
