Dr. Art Hister graduated from McGill University in 1970. Moving from Toronto to Vancouver, he joined the Pine Free Clinic and later moved into private practice. Since 1991 Dr. Hister has been a full-time “media doctor”.
He hosts the call-in show House Calls with Dr. Art Hister on the Corus Radio Network; is a daily health analyst on the Morning News on Global TV in BC; is a daily contributor to CKNW’s The Morning New with Philip Till; is the resident health analyst for Up All Night on BBC 5; is a health columnist for Global TV’s Noon and Weekend News; is a guest host and bi-weekly contributor for the Fanny Kiefer Show on Shaw Cable TV; and he is both the producer and host of Health Matters and Back to Health on Shaw Cable.
Dr. Hister is also the author of the bestselling books Midlife Man and Dr. Art Hister’s Guide to a Longer and Healthier Life. His lively and entertaining style, combined with humor, common-sense and plain language, is what makes him so successful at making the mysteries of modern medicine accessible to all.
