There is always tomorrow - thank goodness!!

After getting up at 4am in anticipation of a 10 hour + ride, my wife and I finally managed to get out the door at around 5:30am to catch a 7:20 ferry.
We had sufficient food and drink to feed and rehydrate an enitire team at the Tour de France, and were super fired up for he many hours of riding in the sun which lay ahead of us.
30 minutes later - I was onto my third bicycle tube, and the last of my patience was being lost.
The ferry was 15 minutes from leaving, and we had 30Km to cover - no problem, we would catch a later ferry.
But wait - the rear rim on my 2 week old wheels was slightly buckled from one of the potholes I had the misfortune of riding over. No chance of riding on that!
I sent my wife home to collect the gas guzzler, and an hour later our monster ride was at a premature end.
Goes to show - no matter how much you plan, have the right equipement and gear, and more importantly, have the right intensions, things don't always go your way!
There is always tomorrow - thank goodness!
