Yoga: Thanks and Giving

Well its that time of year again where we have an excuse to eat a lot of turkey and pumpkin pie, but its also an excuse to give thanks and give. As a part of my own yoga practice i make a conscious effort to give gratitude everyday. It is a very easy excercise that allows us to really grasp all that we have to be fortunate for. So pick a time everyday to give gratitude; whether its well you brush your teeth or drive to work, make it a part of your routine. Go over your list of all that gives you peace and happiness and be thankful for it.
It is also a great time to give and practice karma yoga. I was introduced to a challenge yesturday that I have decided to take on. The challenge is to give something for the next 29 days. It doesn't have to be of monetary value ( although it can be ), but it just has to come from the heart. So, today I went and bought the 'G' diapers which are cloth diapers that have inserts that can be flushed or composted. I figure this is my way of giving back. Although not easy on the pocket book, they are easier for our environment. So, challenge yourself...can you give more?
