Yoga: PEACE and WELLBEING

Posted Sep 21, 2008

Well....its been five months since my little guy was born, and i think I have finally figured out how to balance this new crazy life of motherhood. People are not kidding when they say 'just you wait!" Parenting is by far the most challenging thing that I have done in my life thus far, and I have had some pretty crazy experiences.

I have lived in Tokyo for a year ( where I did my yoga teacher training ), I have backpacked an array of countries, I did my post secondary education at the Randolph Academy in Toronto; which is basically three years of musical theatre boot camp. In fact its, "So You Think You Can Dance meets Canadian Idol".  Intense. I have hosted the Canadian version of  the TV series Wild On....and have even managed to do the odd bungee jump and skydive.

Life BC (before children), seemed pretty great. But, let me tell you....this little man has rocked my world. He has taught me the full throttle meaning of selflessness, humbleness, modesty, innoccence and unconditional love. He has had a life changing impact on my world and how I see the world. He undoubtably makes me want to be a better human.

Yoga in sanskrit means union or 'to yoke' and without sounding to hoki poki, this role of mothering and nurturing is very yoga "ish".  Although it is challenging and sometimes physically exhausting, there is alway a sense of inner peace and calmess.

I want to share this feeling and you don't need to go have a baby to experience this. This is an enlightment that the practice of yoga has given me and I feel everyone deserves this sense of well being.
