Week #11
Posted Nov 3, 2008
There’s one more week to go. This week we’ll take a look back and review some of the new tools we have should we decide to a) continue our paths or b) ever need to restart the engines.
Next week will be the final week of submissions. Without knowing the 2nd round of measurements for all of you, it’s going straight to the 3rd appointment. Those who I have not heard from by Tuesday Nov 18th with their 1st and last set of measurements do not qualify for the grand prize. Even if you have not been consistent with the program throughout, you should still aim to view the stats becaue the great thing about numbers is the fact they don’t lie (unless you are from NY)
Thus far, the scores are as follows (without measurements factored in.
- 174
- 120
- 116
- 60
The tools we have been provided with that (when used on a consistent basis, bring about success)
- attitude – I can / I will / I am – it really starts with YOU
- support – we must share our thoughts, feelings, goals and ambitions with others who affect us – TEAM
- feedback – there are two types that we provide to ourselves a) constructive & b) positive. No place for c) negative. Realize the difference between negative & constructive
- accountability – deal in tangibles, share your goals and be accountable to them
- organization – time management (weekly daytimer) fail to plan and you are planning to fail.
- 100% - don’t do anything at less than 100%. This includes rest, personal time and play
- specificity – this was relating to goal setting – specific goals are attained – vague ones are not.
- consistent – with being specific – we need to stay on top of our goals and responsibilities over a sustained period of time (no yo yo or roller coaster)
- the matrix – healthy & happy life are all connected. You feel well, kids & spouse feel good, job goes well and general well being is up! No secret!
- increments – the mor fit you get the smaller the margin of results – it takes more effort with smaller returns as you get more fit.
- change or die – 2% of people actually change – the reason is they don’t have 1-10 above. Bleak, but simple.
- when we hit the wall – regrouping and throwing down the anchor to reset new goals.
Next week we will talk about life after the Purdy’s pledge and provide some very specific feedback. Keep it up through the week.
Cheers
